 Is John Pruitt retiring?
« Thread Started on Aug 16, 2008, 4:03am »

On Augustt 14, I was on Wikipedia, I was reading their WSB webpages. Beside Justin Farmer name it stated that he is become the evening anchor when John Pruitt retired in January 2009. But when I went back to pages today, Justin Farmer name was not on the pages. So, is this true or was I imagine it?

Yeah, he'll be retiring soon, but I don't know when. Also Bill Hartman is retiring too, I think his last show is some time this month.

I've heard the same rumor about John Pruitt retiring too. I would assume his retirement could come sometime in 2009 or 2010. WSB-TV has yet to formally announce it.

I would want to see John Pruitt slowly ease himself into retirement, instead of leaving all at once. For example: John leaving the 11PM news, continuing the 5PM & 6PM news for several months... then stepping down from the 5PM news, continuing the 6PM news... retiring 2 or 3 months later. That way, it wouldn't have a very major impact on ratings.

With 11Alive anchor Wes Sarginson retiring, he slowly eased himself into retirement... first by leaving the 11PM news in February 2006, continued the 6PM news till May 2007, retired in early 2008.
