A cherished member of the CBS 46 news team has passed away. Fred Powers lost his 3-year battle to cancer today at the age of 49. Before his untimely passing, he worked at CBS 46 for 11 years, covering a wide variety of news stories... and once being dubbed as a "human pinata", in CBS 46 exlcusive reports on being tasered, and being rescused by fire fighters. Before coming to CBS 46 in 1997, he previously held news reporting positions in Southern California, Phoenix, and Salt Lake City. Fred was seen for the last time back on March 14th, covering the Atlanta tornado. His presence in the CBS 46 news room will be greatly missed. From cbs46.com: www.cbs46.com/news/16689023/detail.html
