It looks like Studio 1A in Rockefeller Plaza will be getting a facelift just in time for Meredith Vieria's arrival. Who Will Sit Next To Matt This Summer? www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/nbc/default.aspThe studio has aged fairly well over the last decade or so, but it's definitely past it's prime...

I'm guessing that either Ann Curry or Natalie Morales will be sitting beside Matt Lauer. When Meredith Vieira arrives, Natalie will be assuming her new duty as National Correspondent and co-host of the 9am hour (along with Al Roker and Alexis Glick).
I'm noticing the temorary make-shift set out on the plaza, while studio 1A is said to be getting a makeover. I wonder if NBC could and might be making the move to produce "Today" in HD. I don't know about any of you. I think HD would probably work great for NBC's morning program.
Late 2005, ABC made the move to produce "Good Morning America" in HD. It has become the first over-the-air network morning program to be produced in the new format. I'm guessing that other ABC news programs could be seeing HD sometime in the near-to-mid future... "World News Tonight", "Nightline", "World News Now", "World News This Morning", "20/20", "Primetime", and "This Week".
