It was confirmed in October, 2006 that Bob Barker would not be returning to The Price Is Right in September, 2007.
Barker, now 83, has been in show-biz for 50+ years... 35 years as host of the longest-running game show. Before his days on The Price Is Right, he hosted another game show... Truth Or Consequences. Several years ago, made a cameo appearance in the motion picture Happy Gilmore. Over the years, Barker has won countless Daytime Emmy Awards for his work on The Price Is Right, including Outstanding Game Show and Outstanding Game Show Host. Bob's final episode aired on June 15, 2007.
There had been much speculation as to who might replace Bob Barker, from Rosie O'Donnell, actress/comedian, and former co-host of The View being a favored candidate... to Drew Carey, actor/comedian, and host of the new prime-time game show The Power Of Ten.
Still no word yet on the fate of the long-running game show.
The poll question... Who should replace Bob Barker?

I voted... CBS end the long-running game show.
To me, The Price Is Right would not be the same without Bob Barker, now that he's retired. I really don't know about any of you. I believe CBS ought to just end the show, instead of going through the trouble of replacing the television icon.

CONFIRMED. Drew Carey will be replacing Bob Barker as host of The Price Is Right. Will Drew Carey's price be right? We'll have to find out in September, when the show returns for its 36th Season.

CBS should end it's long running game show because without Bob Barker, TPIR would not be the same as TPIR with Drew Carey
