It's official. Katie Couric will be leaving NBC's "Today" show at the end of May, and later this year, she becomes anchor of CBS' "Evening News" show. There, she'll be making history as the first ever female solo anchor of a network evening news program.
It had been speculated for several months, that Natalie Morales or Campbell Brown would've been likely to be named Katie's successor. It's been confirmed that Meredith Vieira will be leaving ABC's "The View", and also later this year, she becomes co-anchor of NBC's "Today" show.
Speaking of ABC's "The View", the News Blues web-site reports that Connie Chung, former CBS News and ABC News personality, and wife of talk show host Maury Povich has emerged as a favorite to replace Meredith.
The question now is this. "What do you think?"

I voted for "NBC keep Katie Couric". Although I'm proud of her being named anchor of CBS' "Evening News" show, I wish she would have remained loyal to NBC. Over the last 15 years, a majority of her viewers have been very loyal to her. I'm one of those loyal viewers.
