The Georgia Public Broadcasting Macon area affiliates have changed its call letters from WDCO-FM (89.7) and WDCO-TV (29) to WMUM The new call letters WMUM are in honor of Mercer University in Macon. This station's facilities are located 40 miles away outside of Cochran, Georgia (the city of license). This change will be the second in the history of Macon's only public broadcasting station. WDCO originally broadcast on channel 15 until 1992 when it moved to channel 29. These are photos of the transmitter site and studio building in Bleckley County Georgia east of Cochran Georgia. I took these photos around 8/3 BEFORE I noticed the call letters had changed. As you can see, the former call letters are displayed here.
