Has anyone seen the new MGT News graphics? They look a bit more refreshed to me. I still wished they used the #41 with the Peacock. In all, they look better.
What do you think GARTV?

I really like the new graphics on WMGT. They also have a new opening and theme for the newscasts. Only thing is the set seems out of place with the new look. I still dislike that phony control room background at the anchor desk, even more so now that it includes the old logo and the old name "Middle Georgia News".
Other refreshing changes from MGT is their weather presentation. Instead of "accuweather" is is now "pinpoint digital Doppler" and the newscasts begin with a weather forcast with the later weather segment including a scrolling ticker with other weather information on the bottom of the screen.
The changes at WMGT represent how competition has finally made the Macon market news offerings worth watching. I truly believe that if not for WMGT re-entering the news business in 2004, we would still have low quality bland television in this area.
Even the outsourced news presentation on WPGA brought some improvement to this market.
I don't know if MGT having the number 41 in their logo matters so much with the different cable channel numbers (channel 5 is most common depending on the cable system) and their digital channel number is 40. Now WPGA has dropped the "58" from their logo and they now call themselves "ABC Macon", their cable channels vary from town to town, so who really notices channel 58? Neither of these stations have a "great" broadcast signal anyway.

I LOVE their new graphics and look. I think the logo is better, too. The new look is professional and sharp. I think the graphics are the best in town. If you haven't been on the air for 50 years, the second best thing you can do is put on a really aethetically pleasing newscast with great graphics and good-looking anchors.
