BIG STORY: According to Broadcasting and Cable, it looks like Atlanta is set to establish a content pooling service agreement, similar to that of the FOX/NBC model (Local News Service). WAGA (FOX 5), WXIA (11Alive), and WGCL (CBS Atlanta, channel 46) appear to be the Atlanta stations moving in the direction of pooling video content, in an effort to save money, and relax resources to chase down specialty stories. The 3 stations are set to perform a test run the week of May 18-22... to share video content of sports interviews and news conferences, as well as the possibility of the stations sharing 1 news gathering helicopter. WSB (ABC, channel 2) appears to be the only station opting not to participate, in favor of keeping the "mom-and-pop" roots intact.
