I'm hoping that FOX 5 will be giving their web-site a makeover. I'm hoping that WSB-TV, 11Alive, and CBS 46 could and might be doing the same as well. Below, are the grades and critiques I give for the web-sites.
--WSB-TV's web-site... www.wsbtv.com.
Grade: B.
My critique... Although it looks quite nice, I'm hoping that WSB-TV, along with the other Cox O&O's could and might be getting that new IBSYS (Internet Broadcasting Systems) format, similar to what most of the Hearst-Argyle O&O's, 2 of the McGraw-Hill O&O's, and 4 of the NBC O&O's currently have.
To give you an idea of what I'm talking about... KMGH (Owned and operated by McGraw-Hill)... their web-site: www.thedenverchannel.com. WYFF (Owned and operated by Hearst-Argyle)... their web-site: www.wyff4.com. WRC (Owned and operated by NBC-Universal)... their web-site: www.nbc4.com.
--FOX 5's web-site... www.fox5atlanta.com.
Grade... D-.
My critique... I don't mean to be harsh or anything... their web-site definitely needs a makeover. It looks very outdated. I'd really like to see someting similar to what some of their sister stations already have.
To give you an idea of what I'm talking about... WTTG (FOX affiliate in Washington, DC)... their web-site: www.fox5dc.com. WTXF (FOX affiliate in Philadelphia, PA)... their web-site: www.fox29.com. KDVR (FOX affiliate in Denver, CO)... their web-site: www.fox31news.com.
--11Alive's web-site... www.11alive.com.
Grade... B.
My critique... Although it looks quite nice, I'm hoping that 11Alive will be giving their web-site a makeover. I like what their Gannett sister station WUSA currently has. They too, like WXIA and KSDK produce their newscasts in HD. The graphics that 11Alive viewers are seeing are a scale replica of what WUSA currently has.
To give you an idea of what I'm talking about... WUSA (Gannett O&O CBS affiliate in Washington, DC)... their web-site: www.wusa9.com.
--CBS 46's web-site... www.cbs46.com.
Grade... B.
My critique... Although it doesn't look too bad, I'm hoping that CBS 46, along with the other Meredith O&O's could and might be getting that new WorldNow format, similar to what some of their sister stations have already debuted.
To give you an idea of what I'm talking about... KPTV (Meredith O&O FOX affiliate in Portland, OR)... their web-site: www.kptv.com. WFSB (Meredith O&O CBS affiliate in Hartford-New Haven, CT)... their web-site: www.wfsb.com. WHNS (Meredith O&O FOX affiliate in Greenville, SC)... their web-site: www.foxcarolina.com. KCTV (Meredith O&O CBS affiliate in Kansas City, MO)... their web-site: www.kctv5.com.
