I'm sure it's old news, but just returned to Atlanta after 6 month absence and no Ken Watts. Ken's been around forever. What happened?

My grandmother and I had been wondering the very same thing too. I still remember when he use to work at FOX 5 (during the CBS era). He had been at 11Alive for 7 years. We find that a bit puzzling.
Same thing happened over at Channel 2. Warren Savage leaves after 10 years. It didn't take them long to hire Collins Spencer as Warren's replacement, like it didn't take long to hire Clarence Reynolds as Ken's repalcement.

I don't remember the exact reason why Ken Watts was let go but I believe they wanted someone "younger & more attractive." Personally, I enjoyed watching Ken.
Here's a short article from the AJC when Warren left:
"Morning co-anchor and reporter Warren Savage, who worked at WSB-TV for 10 years didn't show up for work Tuesday morning but later came in to clear out his desk and mysteriously resign. He left a farewell e-mail to staff in which he wrote, "Before I sell out, I get the hell out." WSB-TV news director Jennifer Rigby confirmed his departure but declined to comment further.

To me, it would sound like Warren Savage left Channel 2, sighting that he was treated very unfairly. Carrie Edwards Sharbo left Channel 2, sighting the very same thing. In Tracy Martinez's case, she was pretty much let go. Lynn Harasin is still with Channel 2... in that newspaper article about former Channel 2 alumni Marion Brooks testifying in the former Mayor's trial, she revealed that she was diagnosed with CPD (Cronic Pain Disease), and her move to sue the station, sighing that she was treated very unfairly when she was diagnosed.
