Changes have taken place in Atlanta radio during 2007 and 2008...
Nov. 2, 2007 - Steve and Vikki leave Star94 after 17 years. Vikki announced back on June 13 that she was leaving on June 13, due to health reasons. November, both signed-off for the last time.
2 months after Steve and Vikki's departure... The Morning Mess show debuted. The young trio of Marco, Shannon, and "SuperPhat" Mikey from Indiana made their Atlanta debut back on Jan. 2.
Jan. 25, 2008... Cumulus Media moved Q100 and the WWWQ-FM calls from the 100.5 FM frequency to 99.7 FM... dumped the 99X branding. The WNNX-FM calls have moved over to Q100's former 100.5 FM frequency, and now being branded as Rock 100.5. Former Project 96.1 morning show The Regular Guys have moved to 100.5.
Over at 106.7... Citidel changes the format and branding... from the previous country music format (Eagle 106.7) to the oldies music/talk radio format (True Oldies 106.7). Rhubarb Jones leaves 106.7 after 23 years, and holding the honor of having the longest running morning radio show in Atlanta, in favor of airing the syndicated Don Imus show. Dallas McCade will be joining Cadillac Jack over at sister station Kicks 101.5, replacing Kristin Gates.
July 1, 2008... Reports have surfaced that Steve and Vikki are coming back to Atlanta Radio... B 98.5 FM has decided to pick up the former Star94 personalities. Vikki, who had left Star 94, along with her co-host Steve was dealing with a health crisis, and has learned that the blood clot she was suffering from has broken up. This news could be suggesting that Kelly and Alpha may be on their way out from 98.5.
