It's been nearly a year since CBS 46 canceled the morning newscast. It ran from December, 1999 until February, 2005. I enjoyed waking up to CBS 46 during that nearly 6-year period.
I still remember when Helen Neill and Steve Johns (now at WNCN) co-anchored. Also, when Lori Wilson (now at WCAU) solo anchored for about a year... at 2 different times co-anchored with Chris McWatt and Charles Molineaux (now at FOX 5). I still remember Joy Barge. I also remember some of the reporters we'd see out on the field, like Marc Mullins, Jennifer Gladstone (now at Sinclair's NewsCentral), Stacey Turner, Tiffani Reynolds (now at Channel 2), Elaine Reyes (now at 11Alive), etc.
These days, it's just the weather and traffic updates during the CBS Early Show. I do pray and hope CBS 46 could and might be looking at bringing back the morning newscast sometime this year.

WGCL has had some awesome talent but they have let them slip away.. Lori, Joy, & Marc were three of my favorites. I really miss Good Morning Georgia/CBS46 Morning News (especially on the weekends.) Remember when they would send Laura Huckabee to different schools to do the weather and to say "Good Morning Atlanta?" Good times... They need to bring it back, I hate having to turn to FOX5 Morning News.

I do hope that CBS 46 could and might consider bringing back the morning newscast. What I think could help CBS 46 toward an improvement in the ratings, new blood.
I could picture former WTSP anchor and reporter John Harding and former FOX 5 anchor and reporter Tana Brackin co-anchoring the morning newscast, and CBS 46 see an improvement in the ratings. Just a thought.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Lori,Laura and them were able to tear me away from WSB. Boy I was very unhappy to wake up one morning and they weren't there.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Lori,Laura and them were able to tear me away from WSB. Boy I was very unhappy to wake up one morning and they weren't there. Ditto on that one. I've pretty much went back to watching 11Alive, when CBS 46 canceled the morning newscast like they did. Plus, I've really never cared too much about Channel 2 or FOX 5. I'm praying and hoping that CBS 46 could and might be looking at bringing back their morning newscast. This time around, I really wouldn't mind them introducing former WTSP anchor and reporter John Harding, and former FOX 5 anchor and reporter Tana Brackin to co-anchor the morning newscast. In the mean time, I'm looking forward to Cari Champion, the new weekend co-anchor who's expected to join the CBS 46 news team some time this month or next month.

I would just like to see a morning newscast, weekdays from 5-7am. The first 15 minutes of each half-hour focus on the hard news, as in the top stories, and updates on breaking news. Weather and traffic updates every 10 minutes. The 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. half-hours focus on national and world news, consumer and business news... and a sports-wrap at the end of the half-hour. The 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. half-hours focus on health news, and entertainment news... Coffee Quiz trivia, 1-on-1 interviews (if any), an encore of Dave's Top 10 List from the previous night, an encore of Adam Murphy's Restaurant Report Card in the 5:30 a.m. (on Fridays), and a preview of The CBS Early Show in the 6:30 a.m. half-hour.
Just my 2 cents.

Atlnewsfan03 - You should forward your thoughts to WGCL - they're really good. And it would only cost them $0.02. Hell, if they can't afford that, maybe they can afford to buy a clue...
