I notice that CBS 46 wasn't using their regular news set. I don't know if anyone else has noticed or not. When I tuned into the Noon, 4PM, and 6PM newscasts today (August 11th), they appear to be using a temporary set-up... we'll likely be seeing it again at 11PM. Possibly for the next few weeks or so.
Could CBS 46 be getting the 'high definition' overhaul?
We know that 11Alive/MyAtl TV and WSB-TV Channel 2 have been in HD since 2006. FOX 5 debuted the FOX O&O style graphics, set design, and theme music in 2007... didn't convert newscasts to HD. If CBS 46 is going HD... 46 would be poised at becoming the 3rd Atlanta television station to convert newscasts to HD. This is something we'll likely be watching over the next few weeks.

Just got an email from Stephany Fisher at 46. She told me that they are, indeed, building a new set which will be ready by mid-september. No word on HD, however.

Cool, can't wait. I sent them an email back in June asking when they were going HD, they said they were going soon but they didn't have an official start date.

I notice that CBS 46 debuted its new news set on Sunday's 11PM newscast (Sept. 21). 46 hasn't converted newscasts to high definition quite yet.
Meredith Corporation... CBS 46's parent company has since converted the WSMV Nashville and KCTV Kansas City local newscasts to high definition.
