Former WSB-TV news anchor Warren Savage was arrested by Forsyth County deputies early Wednesday on cocaine charges, a sheriff's spokeswoman said. The 5 a.m. arrest was Savage's second arrest on drug charges within two months. Savage, 42, was arrested Wednesday outside a business in the southern part of the county as "part of an ongoing narcotics investigation," said sheriff's spokeswoman Karleen Chalker. She had no additional information on the investigation or the arrest. Chalker said Savage was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. She said he would be held in the county jail without bail at least until an initial hearing before a Magistrate Court judge on Friday. Savage, who worked at WSB-TV for 10 years before abruptly leaving his job a year ago, was arrested in Gwinnett County on Aug. 17 and charged with marijuana possession and giving police a false name or information. According to Gwinnett police Cpl. Darren Moloney, police arrested Savage after responding to the Best Western Peachtree Corners on a domestic disturbance call. Savage was charged with possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana. www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/atlanta/stories/2006/10/04/1005metsavage.html
